Have you ever considered volunteering for a local charity?
Time rich but money poor?
Want to give back to your local community?
Volunteering can make a huge difference to the help we’re able to provide to survivors of sexual or domestic abuse.
If you have a skill that could be used to improve the lives of others, we want to hear from you.
As a charity providing free counselling services and support groups for victims/ survivors of abuse, Haven relies on the dedication and generosity of our hard-working team of volunteers.
Why volunteer? (courtesy of helpguide.org)…
Volunteering offers vital help to people in need, worthwhile causes, and the community, but the benefits can be even greater for you, the volunteer.
Volunteering and helping others can reduce stress, combat depression, keep you mentally stimulated, and provide a sense of purpose.
While it’s true that the more you volunteer, the more benefits you’ll experience, volunteering doesn’t have to involve a long-term commitment or take a huge amount of time out of your busy day.
Giving in even simple ways can help those in need and improve your health and happiness.
So, whether you are a trained counsellor prepared to offer some of your time, or you come from an office background and can lend a hand with paperwork, we’d appreciate you getting in touch.
